Sponge
"sponging on/off"
The sea sponge technique is one of the easiest techniques to master and can give your walls the delicate, mottled look of aged porcelain, as well as the dramatic look of rustic stoneware.
It is one of the easiest techniques to use to give depth and complexity to the wall. Simply stroking various colors on a wall at the base covering with a sea sponge. The more colors on the sponge, the greater the illusion of depth.
